Shoot and Edit–Week 6 Edit

Okay, so I tried playing around with it a little more this week.

I don’t have time to try to adjust the curves like Ashley suggests – we’re running out the door in a few minutes.  I might try when we get home, though.

So, here’s what I have for this week.

SOOC:

I first opened it with Camera Raw, and adjusted to my liking.  Then, I ran both PW’s Seventies and Heartland on this pic, erased the actions from the valentine, and reduced opacity to 33% for both.  I ran a High Pass filter.  I also cloned out the tuna can and my cow pan.

Then, for fun, because Sarah always has great B&W’s, I added a BW layer, and erased it off the valentine.

So, which do you like best?

See you when I get back.

  1. Such a sweet moment you captured, Adeena!

Your black and white edit really camouflages the noise that your ACR edit generated. I use that trick often when I have really noisy pics. LOVE me a grainy black and white!!! :)

One thought: Did you erase your high pass filter off the out of focus areas? If not, you probably sharped and exaggerated the noise. (And just kick me if you don't want advice!)

  2. I have been trying to learn how to clone out unwanted objects and so far I just make a mess! These pictures are great! I love the edit with full color, so sweet!

  4. Very cute...I like the first edit. Have you ever tried using Noiseware? It's free software that will help remove the noise from the photo :) Very cute though!

  7. The composition of the sooc is great and I really like both of your edits Adeena though probably the bnw one with selective colouring would be my absolute favourite. If I had been editing this shot - and I do like experimenting with photos LOL I would have have selected the red heart of the little card and left the paw print parts of the card as bnw. I'm not sure what it would look like but I thought it might be cute for your little one to look as if she was holding a heart.

  9. I think the black and white with selective color is kinda cool. I don't always like selective color but I think everyone's right...it disguises any noise and creates a nice focus on the card. Well done.
