Happy Monday!

We had a busy week last week - killing chickens/coons (a sad, sad story... you can read about our frustrations at my sister's blog), daily VBS for the kids, karate, baseball, and camping!  :D

The kids had such a blast at VBS - you should see all the fun crafts they came home with!

Here's the shirts they made.

Our neighbour's barn burned down Monday night.... and we didn't hear a thing.  In our defense, we were in the house with a/c on (it's been incredibly hot here!!) and we were so exhausted.  Pretty bad, though.  ;)

You can see it in the background in this pic:

And now.  All gone.

And finally, I've been trying to play with texture.  I don't really know how to do it.  Here's an attempt.  I do like our pink poppies.  :)

How was your week?

  1. Nice shirts from the kids!

I can't believe it's THAT barn - :O but then, if I had been as tired as you guys, with the a/c on, I probably wouldn't have heard it either. Actually, scratch that - even if the a/c were off I wouldn't have heard anything. XD

I like what you did to that picture!

Love the texture pic. How'd you do it? What's the background?

  3. I LOVE that poppy picture! That looks SO cool!

Also, love Becky's expression in that first picture! She kills me. XD Those shirts are super cool. I never did see any of the kid's crafts, they'll have to show me next time!

  5. How funny that we both did flower pictures with texture on the same day! LOL! Great minds. :-)

I love seeing all your (older) kiddos in a row. Now I can see who's who. Our VBS is next week; the boys are excited! :-) Have a great day!

  7. For the poppy.

I copied a texture that I had downloaded free somewhere on the internet. ;) Then, I pasted it over the poppy picture. I turned down the opacity. (Can't remember how much.) Then, I erased the texture off of the poppy 100%, and about 30% off the bud in the background.

I think I should have turned the opacity of the texture down some more... I'll just have to try again! :)

Oh, and I did it all in Photostudio! :)
